Jewish Calendar 2023 June – You might be surprised to learn that Jewish holidays like Hanukkah and Passover start on the same day every year. Hanukkah falls on the 25th of Kislev each year, and Passover always falls on the 14th of Nisan. However, the Jewish year is not as long as the solar year, so we must constantly look up the dates of the Jewish holidays in the civil calendar.
The Jewish calendar uses a 12-month lunar calendar with an extra month added from time to time. Our holidays follow the cycles of the moon, so they usually fall on a full moon.
