JazzED’s Second Line is fun, energetic, street music inspired by the old traditions of New Orleans. JazzED’s second band features a brass and percussion arrangement (think loud and proud), creating powerful and resonant music.
Marina and the Dreamboats were originally a group that regularly played Mo’ Jam Mondays at The Nectar Lounge in Seattle. In 2015, Marina was offered a group of musicians to be part of Mo’ Jam in a band in Seattle. Marina had good taste and was hooked. He needed more horns.
The group continues to entertain people of all ages with jazz, soul and classical music. They released their self-titled new album on July 13, 2018. In March 2019, they won the Battle of the Bands at Hard Rock Cafe Seattle, proving that this jazz crossover band has something to offer every audience.

Eagle Support Program
Walter Cano is a trumpeter, composer and currently works as a family advocate and instrumental specialist at Seattle JazzED. Thanks to great jazz trumpeters such as Clifford Brown and Snooky Young and the music of Peruvian greats Óscar Avilés and Arturo Caver, Walter’s music is very different.
Walter has had a long and successful career, playing in the United States and around the world with various bands. Artists he has worked with include Etienne Charles Big Band, Ulysses Owens Jr.’s New Century Big Band, Rodney Whitaker Sextet, Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and Kurt Elling.
The Walter Cano Septet shows its interest in the jazz trumpet tradition while honoring its Peruvian roots, resulting in a unique, one-of-a-kind sound. The band changes from a quartet to an octet and begins at Cliff Bell’s jazz club in Detroit.

The young musicians of Seattle JazzED’s Girls Ellington Project (GEP) aim to promote gender equality in jazz and empower women and non-binary people within the mainstream jazz community to be heard and heard. Join the JAM SESSIONS. With support from Seattle jazz musicians such as Marina Albero, Liana Green, Kate Olson, Haley Freedlund, Kelly Clingan and Kelsey Mines, GEP will put on a Jam Session their own way. *The community is invited to join us for an evening of great music and sound on Tuesday, March 15th from 6-8pm at the Royal Room in Columbia City – tickets are free!
