The start of a new academic year is an exciting part of your time, and our campus will be open to all students in September 2022. Students have made it clear to us how much they value personal interactions with fellow students and the experience they have of an environment alive with research and academic scholars. The Department of Informatics will offer on-campus in-person classes, interactive learning and hands-on sessions, and pre-recorded lectures will be available online, giving you a blended learning experience. You are expected to attend your seminars, workshops, practical sessions etc. in person unless pandemic-related circumstances arise that require you to study all or part of your course online for a period of time.
As part of a rich and varied learning environment, there may also be opportunities where you are offered a ‘live’ online lecture if, for example, a teacher needs to be isolated. Where appropriate, your face-to-face teaching will be enriched with online content and activities to support your progress and learning outcomes. For example, this can include readings and a variety of interactive activities that can act as preparation or follow-up to personal lessons, meaning you can work through them at your own pace. You can find more information about planning on the website Your education 2022-23.
You’ll find lots of useful information on the international student pages, including international student policy information, immigration and visa information, advice on preparing for life in the UK, travel information, etc.
