A dream calendar to change and influence students; Sir, we have the opportunity to create a dream calendar that will impact the empowerment of teachers and students. So, I researched various calendars. I made this calendar and presented it to the Board of Education, which I think will be really helpful for the entire school district. Then we decided that we would like to pilot it first, and next year we will do it full-time in the district.

In fact, we only have two weeks left on the calendar. For the past several years, at the beginning of the school year, we have been teaching young children social skills before they start school. So we’ve seen the gradual decline of scholars. So if we can do 5 days in a row without being interrupted by things like scheduled days or holidays. We think we can run really fast. Then, at the end of each semester, teachers can get the professional development (PD) they need. Take time the next day to reflect on that development and think about how to implement it in the future. Quarterly To put these plans into action, students have one week left to reset and start over. Reboot and come back. Everything is lovely and ready to go for next month. So we record it on this calendar with PD times. There is a time for reflection and resetting. Teachers only have a few days to renew. Think about it. We’ve all been fighting for medical appointments over the summer and Christmas holidays, and now we have the opportunity to take care of ourselves year-round. So there are many advantages.

The Boys and Girls Club will be here for all parents needing daycare supplies in October and the week before spring break. During that time we will have teachers and classroom staff who want to come and tutor, and during that time they will be invited to come and have a tutoring session. Maybe it’s an opportunity for kids who used to run away from school. So during the quarter the kids come to school and look forward to the week. When children who drop out of school or parents and teachers feel they need more time together, they spend time together in a small environment to acquire these skills. So we’re really excited about what’s to come.
One of the misconceptions that comes out is that it is a perennial calendar. It is not a year-round calendar. It is designed to have at least 8 weeks of summer vacation between us. The second day care is huge. We need better daycare here. So by working with Boys and Girls Club with us, we solve that problem. It’s new. Sometimes people get so used to what they’re doing that the change can be a little scary, but if we keep doing what we’re doing, the same results come out and sometimes we have to try something new.
Okay, for many reasons, but partly because taking breaks between teachers is not only for mental relaxation and health, but also for actually getting that information. We’ve put together some significant, intentional changes so we can do our best to meet the needs of our students in the coming quarter. Plus, over the past few years, we’ve always had this gap between secondary holidays and primary school holidays, as elementary school students could be closed and sometimes middle school students had to stay home to see the kids. Imagine if next year we redeveloped this calendar for school districts and distributed it to elementary and middle school students at the same time. This will solve many of the problems we’ve been hearing from parents over the years. It is designed to do just that. I think being able to really intentionally organize and use the data we’re looking at is the biggest thing we can do to meet the needs of kids.

Throughout the year I met Dr. Eggleston. We collect data throughout the year to look at. Collect and fill parent surveys. allowing students to know their opinions; Then, at the end of the year, some decisions will be made. It is a board decision. So it’s our job to give them all the information they need so they can make an informed decision about whether it’s a good thing or something that needs review.
We are with you, we are working with you. This is also new to us. As hopeful and excited as we are, we have the same thoughts and concerns. We don’t know what we don’t know.
